📱 How to Use the Dashboard

[Dashboard screenshot will be added here]

The AUDAC Touch dashboard controls both the audio system and the video wall from any phone or tablet connected to your WiFi.

Accessing the Dashboard

  1. Connect to the venue WiFi
  2. Open a web browser
  3. Go to the AUDAC Touch address (check with management)

Video Wall Controls

  • Screens ON: Press the ON button for each screen (or use the ALL ON button)
  • Screens OFF: Press the OFF button to turn screens to black (keeps them controllable)
  • Layout Changes: To change the video wall layout, press the layout button for each of the 12 screens

Audio Controls

  • Volume: Use the slider for each zone
  • Source Selection: Choose input source for each zone
  • Mute: Press the mute button for any zone

Changing Channels

To change the TV channel, use the Foxtel remote and point it at the set-top box in the AV cupboard.

🔧 Technical Information

System Overview

The video wall consists of 12 x LG 49VL5G-A commercial displays arranged in a 3-row × 4-column grid. Control is via IP over the venue network using the existing AUDAC MTX audio matrix as the control system.

Network Control

  • Protocol: TCP/IP on port 9761
  • Control Method: AUDAC Touch 2 dashboard
  • Each screen has its own IP address and responds to commands individually

Key Technical Details

Function Command Notes
Screen ON (video unmute) kd 00 00 Turns picture on
Screen OFF (video mute) kd 00 01 Turns picture off but keeps network alive
Tile Layout 3×4 dd 00 43 Full video wall mode
Tile Layout 2×2 dd 00 22 Smaller grouping mode
Tile Mode OFF dd 00 00 Individual screen mode

Important Notes

  • Video Mute vs Standby: We use video mute (kd 00 01) instead of standby because standby puts the network card to sleep, making the screens uncontrollable until someone physically turns them back on.
  • Power On Status: All screens are set to “PWR” mode so they automatically power on after any power outage.
  • Layout Changes: Changing from one layout to another requires pressing a button for each of the 12 screens (12 taps total). This is a limitation of the AUDAC system but avoids the cost of a dedicated control system.

Troubleshooting

Problem Solution
Screen not responding to commands Check the screen is powered on at the wall. If still unresponsive, it may be in standby – use the physical remote to wake it.
Dashboard not loading Ensure device is connected to venue WiFi. Try refreshing the page.
Picture quality issues Check DisplayPort cables are secure. The video signal daisy-chains between screens.
No sound in a zone Check the zone isn’t muted in the dashboard. Check volume levels.
