Summary
This project involves establishing network connectivity between the main house (currently undergoing renovation) and the shed. The installation includes a structured cabling system with Cat6 cables, network equipment configuration including switches and access points, and reliable internet access throughout both buildings.
The installation includes running underground conduit between the buildings to protect the cabling from environmental damage. All network equipment includes professional mounting and configuration for optimal performance.
A comprehensive security system includes wireless motion sensors, roller door sensors for all 6 doors, and smartphone-based monitoring and control. The system is designed to be expandable for future integration when the cottage is renovated into the main house.
Upon completion, the property has seamless connectivity across the entire area with the ability to stream, work, and browse from anywhere, plus peace of mind with professional security monitoring.
Network Infrastructure
NBN Connection to Shed
2x Cat6 cable runs approximately 80m from NBN lead-in. Route through main house roof, down pole, through existing 32mm orange conduit to shed. One line for network, one for future expansion/redundancy.
WiFi Access Points
High-performance wireless access point for main shed area with large coverage pattern spanning 3-4 roller door widths. Coverage extends to outdoor areas around shed for complete property-wide WiFi.
Dedicated wall-mounted wireless access point for games room with 3 ethernet outputs for direct wired connection to TV, AV equipment, or games consoles (Xbox, PlayStation, etc).
