The Nice FT210 PE beams (or equivalent) provide infrared detection across the gate opening. When the beam is broken during gate operation, the gate will stop and reverse — preventing entrapment of vehicles, people, or children. The transmitter side is wired to the gate motor for power, while the receiver side runs on a long-life battery, avoiding the need to trench or run cables across the driveway.

A Sandleford KSS122 wall mount keysafe will be installed near the gate, containing a key to manually release the sliding gate. This is a critical fallback — if the gate motor fails, the battery backup fails, or there’s a circuit fault, this key provides last-resort manual access.

While onsite, we will check whether the gate motor has a battery backup installed. This is highly recommended — without battery backup, the gate will not operate during a power outage or internal circuit failure. If no backup exists, we’ll discuss options. Depending on the gate type, a converter or custom battery solution may be required. We’ll bring spare batteries to assess compatibility, but any battery backup installation would be quoted separately.
