Quote Details

Following our site visit, we’re proposing a Starlink satellite internet installation combined with a professional hardwired WiFi access point system to replace your current consumer-grade Linksys mesh units. SIAX will supply the WiFi access points and PoE switch. We’ve recommended four access points to provide coverage across all levels plus the garage. The Starlink dish will be mounted on the roof with cabling routed down via the lift shaft to the bar area. We’re taking a two-stage approach: Stage 1 removes old phone points and tests all existing blue Cat cabling to confirm what’s usable. Stage 2 installs the Starlink dish, WiFi access points, PoE switch, and relocates your Cisco router. All equipment ordering is on hold until Stage 1 confirms cabling viability.

Following our site visit and conversation with Brendan, we’re proposing a Starlink satellite internet installation combined with a professional hardwired WiFi access point system to replace your current consumer-grade Linksys mesh units.

The Starlink dish will be mounted on the roof using heavy-duty mounting hardware — this is important given your elevated position and exposure to high winds. Cabling will be routed down via the lift shaft to the bar area. Your existing Cisco firewall/router will be relocated to where the Starlink terminates (or the first branch point for data cabling).

Why We’re Pre-Testing the Cabling First

Stage 1 cable testing is critical before any equipment is ordered. The results will determine:

This approach protects you from having equipment sitting unused if we discover cabling issues, and ensures SIAX orders exactly what’s needed based on confirmed infrastructure.

Materials

  • Heavy-duty Starlink roof mounting hardware (rated for high wind exposure)
  • Conduit and fittings for cable protection
  • Cat6 joiners/couplers for extending existing runs
  • Cat6 RJ45 plugs and connectors
  • Roof penetration gear (dektites, flashing, weatherproofing)
  • Cable clips, ties, and management hardware
  • Wall plates and patch leads as required

Note: WiFi access points (4x) and PoE switch supplied by SIAX. Customer orders Starlink kit directly after Stage 1.

Before We Start

  • WiFi Access Point Selection: Brendan to show you images of the proposed access points, particularly for any that will be visible or wall-mounted in living areas
  • Equipment Hold: All equipment (WiFi APs, PoE switch, and Starlink) will be ordered only after Stage 1 confirms cabling is viable
  • Starlink Referral Code: We’ll provide you with a referral code for one month off your Starlink subscription. Hold off on ordering until we’ve completed Stage 1 cable testing

Assumptions

  • Customer will order and supply Starlink kit after Stage 1 confirms cabling viability
  • SIAX will provide compatible WiFi access points and PoE switch suitable for residential installation
  • Majority of existing blue Cat cabling is in good working order (to be confirmed in Stage 1)
  • Clear roof access is available for Starlink dish mounting with adequate sky visibility
  • Power outlets are available near PoE switch location and all four access point mounting locations
