Description
Overview
The TP-Link EAP610-Outdoor is a robust AX1800 Wi-Fi 6 access point built for demanding outdoor environments. Whether you’re extending coverage to a backyard, pool area, outdoor café, or warehouse yard, this unit delivers reliable high-speed wireless connectivity where indoor access points simply can’t reach.
With dual-band speeds of up to 1.8 Gbps and an IP67-rated weatherproof enclosure, the EAP610-Outdoor handles the harsh Australian climate while providing the capacity to connect 250+ devices simultaneously. It’s a solid choice for businesses, hospitality venues, and larger residential properties that need dependable outdoor WiFi coverage.
Key Features
The EAP610-Outdoor brings genuine Wi-Fi 6 performance to outdoor installations. On the 5 GHz band, you get speeds up to 1201 Mbps, while the 2.4 GHz band delivers 574 Mbps for devices that need broader range. OFDMA and MU-MIMO technologies allow the access point to handle dozens of simultaneous connections efficiently, which is essential for venues with high foot traffic or multiple wireless devices.
Omada Mesh support means you can extend coverage without running additional network cables to hard-to-reach areas. The access points communicate wirelessly with each other, automatically optimising connection paths and providing self-healing capability if one unit goes offline. For users moving around the property, fast roaming ensures devices switch between access points seamlessly without dropping connections.
Professional-grade antennas with high-power amplifiers ensure strong signal coverage across large outdoor spaces, while beamforming concentrates the signal toward connected devices for improved performance and range.
Built for Australian Conditions
The IP67 weatherproof enclosure means this access point is completely dust-tight and can handle full water immersion up to one metre deep for 30 minutes. Add to that 6KV lightning protection and 15KV ESD protection, and you’ve got a unit that handles storms, coastal environments, and extreme temperatures from -30°C to 70°C.
Included mounting kits support both pole and wall installation, giving you flexibility in positioning. The unit can be powered via 802.3at PoE+ from a compatible switch, or using the included 48V passive PoE adapter.
Centralised Management with Omada SDN
The EAP610-Outdoor integrates into TP-Link’s Omada Software Defined Networking platform for centralised cloud management. Whether you’re managing a single site or multiple locations, you can configure, monitor, and troubleshoot your entire network from a single interface. Zero-Touch Provisioning allows new access points to automatically connect and configure themselves when added to your network.
Day-to-day management is straightforward via the free Omada app on iOS or Android. You can monitor network status, manage connected clients, and adjust settings from your phone or tablet.
