Project Overview
System Consolidation Complete
Your property’s technology has been completely overhauled:
- Security unified — replaced separate Bosch alarm and 2N intercom with full Dahua system (CCTV, alarm, intercom all in one DMSS app)
- Audio simplified — failing Control4 replaced with WiiM multi-room (5 zones)
- TV distribution removed — no more central hub, direct Foxtel boxes and apps on each TV
- New FTA antenna — installed and roof sealed
- Control4 disconnected — no more universal remotes, expensive reprogramming, or integration fixes
- Simple control — Samsung tablet for security/audio, standard TV remotes for everything else

Security System
The DMSS app controls everything: the alarm, front gate, garage door, cameras, and intercom.
Share With Family HIGHLY RECOMMENDED
Add family members to DMSS so multiple people get alarm notifications.
Alarm
The alarm section controls the house alarm AND the front gate and garage door.
Open: DMSS → Alarm → Area
You’ll see three areas:
1. House
This is the actual alarm for the house.
Disarm: Tap arm icon → Disarm
2. Front Gate
Keep disarmed (never arm this). Tap “Front Gate” to open its control screen:
Gate Trigger: Tap to open/close
3. Garage Door
Keep disarmed (never arm this). Tap “Garage Door” to open its control screen:
Door Trigger: Tap to open/close
Known bug: The app may say “door opened” but won’t say “door closed”. Ignore this — the door still closes.
Alarm PIN Codes (Keypads)
Keypads are in the garage and near the front door. Each person has their own PIN so the history shows who’s coming and going.

When someone presses the doorbell at the gate, your phone rings (DMSS) and so does the kitchen tablet.

You can see the front gate camera here. You can control the garage door but can’t see it (check status in the Alarm section).
Intercom PIN Codes (Gate Keypad)
Visitors can enter a PIN at the gate to open without calling:

Changing Intercom PINs
Intercom PINs are changed via SmartPSS software (not the app). This can be done remotely. We can provide instructions to your holiday rental company if needed.

Tap Playback → choose date → scroll to find the time you want.

Upstairs Living — Why the Denon?
The upstairs living room has a 5.1 surround speaker setup. We kept the Denon amp to power all those speakers and connected the WiiM Pro into its CD input. To stream music upstairs: turn on the Denon, set it to CD, then play via WiiM.

Guest-friendly: AirPlay and Chromecast work directly from any phone — no app downloads or accounts needed.
TVs & Foxtel
Remote Controls
With Control4 removed, you no longer need universal remotes. Modern TVs use HDMI CEC — the TV remote controls connected amps (on/off and volume).
Foxtel remote for Foxtel boxes
Foxtel & CEC: Foxtel boxes support HDMI CEC but it’s glitchy (known issue). The standard Foxtel remote works well and people are familiar with it. Two remotes isn’t a big deal.
